WHAT KIND OF BOOKS WILL BE IN MY LIBRARY?
When I was reading the article " Do Works by Men Implicated by #MeToo Belong in the class room?" I found it really hard to pick what side I am on. At the end of the day you need to look at the book and see what the lesson it teaches the reader and what will they get out of the book. I would not look the author as much as long as the book has good meaning behind it.
With all said I would not like to support the author by teaching his book but I cant hold back on what kids want to read. If I don't include some books thats me putting censorship in the class room. In my classroom kids will make the decision for them self and decide if they want to keep reading books from that author or not.
In the video The Problem With Cancel Culture it is very easy for news to go out now a days. In the video she said "It is easy to become the person you hate" and I agree with her because if you keep sending hate to one person and not just move on you are just like them. Why hate on someone who dose not make an impact on your life. Being in popularity is not a priority that people should have in mind as they mentioned in the video.
